The quilt circle

Six volunteers, one church hall, and a lap quilt for every new client. A small contribution that says someone is thinking of you.

Older women sewing patchwork quilts around a long table in a church hall

The idea was simple: every new client should receive something made by hand. A group of volunteers meets fortnightly and turns donated fabric into lap quilts.

Contributions like this are not about money. They are time, skill and the message that a person newly receiving care is still part of a community that makes things for each other.
